Welcome to the Website of Phoenix Writers

Phoenix Writers are currently on an enforced sabbatical.

When  this changes, we will let you know.

Welcome - this website showcases some of the work of Falkland Phoenix Writers, a writing group that rose from the ashes of the longstanding Kettle Spoutings and Cupar Writers.

The leader of our group, Elizabeth Carr, is a former schoolteacher, from Blyth in Northumberland. Under Elizabeth's excellent guidance the above mentioned groups produced a large volume of work and several publications, including Spoutings 1, 2 and 3 - and Nickety Nackety News, a title inspired by the well known Scottish poem, 'The Wee Cooper o' Fife'.

We meet on Tuesdays, 2pm to 4pm, in our Writing Room at Castle Park Centre in Falkland, Fife, to share ideas and develop our creative writing skills.

We aim to provide a friendly forum in which members can present their work and obtain constructive feedback. By this means, we each strive to improve and any members who would like to be published might just thereby find this goal a little easier to achieve!

Currently, we can accommodate up to four new members So, whether you are completely new to creative writing or already have a track record as a writer, if you enjoy writing – short stories, poems, plays or even a novel – we will be delighted to meet you and will make you very welcome.
